Bordam's SoulScript

Hai~ I'm Lia Damanik, and I extend a warm welcome to my blog, where words serve as both refuge and medium for my reflections. Since late 2012, I've been on this blogging journey, initially following trends and discussing various topics, even those deemed trivial. However, as time progressed, I found myself increasingly enamored with the intricate and diverse world of blogging.

As I began my postgraduate studies, I gradually stopped updating my blog, as it seemed like a leisurely pursuit. Looking back, I should have actively documented my experiences on my blog because that phase marked a significant turning point.

Amidst the challenges of completing my studies, I also had to cope with losing my father to an unfamiliar illness. Shortly after, I unexpectedly lost my job without a clear reason. However, after completing my postgraduate degree, I found a much better job opportunity, and through what I can only describe as divine intervention, I am where I am today.

Now, I would love to take my blog more carefully, selecting and crafting the best stories of the moment. I initially started my blog because I love to express my mind without speaking, using this space as a creative outlet to find peace, express myself, and share my experiences. I'm drawn to writing about the moments I find myself in certain situations, capturing the special thoughts and emotions that arise.

I am incredibly happy and gain self-awareness when reading about what happened to me in the past on my blog. It's a journey through time, and as I reflect on those moments, I realize that I have passed through so many experiences, both profound and ordinary, that have shaped the person I am today. I write not only to share these experiences but also to know more about myself.

What I do

I am an English Lecturer at a State of Islamic College, living independently in Panyabungan, Mandailing Natal, Indonesia, far from my family. It is one of the reasons I've discovered the beauty of self-discovery and the importance of cherishing the moments that life brings my way.

What I blog about

I delve into the insights movies offer, sharing the thoughts and perspectives they inspire in me. I explore the moments, ideas, and feelings that arise when enjoying a meal, aiming to create a deeper connection between the culinary experience and the emotions it evokes. Regarding books, I'd love to share the new knowledge and wisdom I gain from reading them. I don't review places; instead, I recount the memories and stories each trip gives me, often focusing on the moments and the people I share those adventures with.

Feel free to explore or simply enjoy the stories and musings I share ❤️
